How to Build a Water Wall Fountain

A wall-mounted water feature can add considerably to the aesthetics of a room. If you have a large space in your room and you want to partition with something innovative, a wall-mounted water feature is a perfect thing to build on. The design of a wall water feature is very simple. A frame is created to support a vertical sheet of glass, and the water drips down the glass, collecting in a container below. Here’s how you can make one for your home.

Step 1 ? Preparing the frame.

You must first join the metal box and metal frame with the included glass. To do so, remove the included glass and drill holes in the bottom of the frame and sides for additional support. Place the frame in front of the metal box, overlapping the bottom with the top of the box. Align the frame correctly and mark the metal box through the holes drilled in the frame. Then drill holes in the metal box at these marks. Lastly, use nuts and bolts to join the metal box and frame. Be sure to caulk around the screws to make the metal box waterproof.

Step 2 ? Placing the pump and tubing.

The pump must be placed inside the metal box. However, to protect the pump from oxidation, first, apply a copper shield to all metal surfaces in the case. Then put the pump inside the box. You can place the pump anywhere in the box, but a corner is preferable. Do not connect the pump yet. Attach the tubing to the pump and use the hot glue to glue the remaining plastic tubing along one side of the frame, leading it across the top. The tube should be flat, covering the entire width of the frame at the top. Carefully poke small holes in the pipe; these holes will allow the water to fall from the fountain. The end of the pipe can be sealed with the help of caulking to prevent water from escaping.

Step 3 ? Building the reservoir.

If you don?t want the metal box to be visible, dig a hole near the wall along which the fountain will be placed. Make the hole big enough to fit in the box. Place the pond liner inside the cavity and then secure the box inside it.

Step 4 ? Turning on the water.

Fill in the box before starting the pump for the first time. Note that it may take some time to discover the correct amount of water needed for the fountain to function properly. If there is too much or too little water, the wall water feature may not look as attractive. If you don?t have enough water, the pump can accidentally suck in air, causing water disturbances and splashing. Too much water will cause spillage.

Step 5 ? Decoration

Finally, how to build a water wall while making it decorative? You can use pebbles, stones, sand, artificial plants, or other decorative ornaments to make your fountain look more attractive.
